A Chartered Engineer, with membership of both the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (F.I.Mech.E.) and the Institution of Engineering and Technology (M.I.E.T.) – the latter being with the Manufacturing Division.

A Certified Diploma in Accountancy and Finance (C.Dip.A.F.) is also held.

John trained as a mechanical engineer with additional manufacturing engineering education.

Following a career of over 36 years in the automotive industry including management of engineering and commercial joint ventures and licence agreements with international companies world wide, John established an independent consultancy company.
